West Sacramento, Calif. — Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) is pleased to announce that it has received a $40,000 grant from the American Express Center for Community Development (CCD). This funding is dedicated to enhancing housing counseling programs in rural and Indigenous communities in the Western United States.

The grant will help support RCAC’s Annual Housing Counseling Summit and strengthen services such as quality control, capacity building and compliance monitoring for housing counseling agencies. The funding targets agencies that primarily serve low- and moderate-income rural and Indigenous populations in Yuma and Coconino counties in Arizona, La Plata County in Colorado, Santa Fe County in New Mexico, and Box Elder and Salt Lake counties in Utah.

“This generous contribution from American Express CCD is vital for addressing the essential needs of rural and Indigenous communities,” said Suzanne Anarde-Devenport, RCAC Chief Executive Officer. “It strengthens our ability to support housing counselors, ensuring they have the tools to assist families in securing safe, affordable housing.”

RCAC partners with rural and Indigenous communities to achieve their vision and well-being through technical assistance, training, financial resources, and advocacy. RCAC serves rural communities in 13 western states and western Pacific islands.
