Rural Community Assistance Corporation is supported by a grant from the S.L. Gimbel Foundation to increase drinking water access to seven southern California Tribes

West Sacramento, Calif. — The S.L. Gimbel Foundation awarded $50,000 to Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) to increase access to and consumption of safe drinking water for members of seven southern California Tribes. RCAC staff will work with La Posta Band of Mission Indians leadership to bring the Agua4All program to a consortium of seven tribes served by the Southern Indian Health Council in eastern San Diego County

RCAC seeks Yoneo Ono Award nominees

RCAC seeks nominations for the Yoneo Ono Rural Volunteer Award. The award honors rural people who have made significant lifelong contributions to their community in volunteer capacities. RCAC hopes to encourage further rural volunteer activities by acknowledging the accomplishments of a select few.

This week, the Rural Community Assistance Partnership (RCAP) strongly endorsed two bipartisan bills sponsored by U.S. Senators Cory Booker and Shelly Moore Capito aimed at improving water well quality, wastewater, and septic systems for rural homeowners across the United States. This legislation will impact Americans living in areas where there is limited access to a public drinking water or wastewater facilities

RCAC receives $13.67 million to support self-help housing activities

West Sacramento, Calif. — Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) has received $13.67 million over five years in U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development (USDA RD) funding through the USDA RD Mutual Self-Help Housing Program to support single-family home construction and to help prepare rural residents for homeownership. The contract will support RCAC’s work with nonprofit organizations, housing authorities and tribal housing authorities to develop affordable housing in the rural West.

RCAP leads coalition on 2018 Farm Bill priorities

Washington, DC (April 11, 2018) – The Rural Community Assistance Partnership (RCAP), NCBA CLUSA, New America, and a bipartisan coalition of rural policy leaders submit recommendations for the Rural Development Title in the 2018 Farm Bill to Congress, focused on three priorities, access to capital, infrastructure, and innovation. A coalition of more than forty rural policy leaders throughout the country came together to discuss opportunities and challenges small communities face
