RCAC honors Moises Loza with leadership award

West Sacramento, Calif. – Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) is pleased to announce that Moises Loza has been selected to receive RCAC’s William French Award. The award recognizes Loza’s achievements in rural housing. Loza was the executive director of the Housing Assistance Council (HAC), a national nonprofit corporation that works to increase the availability of decent housing for rural low-income people.

David Lipsetz Named Next Housing Assistance Council Executive Director

Washington, DC – October 12, 2017 – The Housing Assistance Council (HAC) Board of Directors has named David Lipsetz as the organization’s next Executive Director. Lipsetz will replace Moises Loza, who is retiring on November 1, 2017 after more than 40 years at HAC. Founded in 1971, HAC is one of the nation’s oldest and most respected nonprofit organizations serving the housing needs of rural America and its residents. David becomes only the fourth Executive Director to lead the Housing Assistance Council.

U.S. Treasury CDFI Fund awards RCAC more than $1 million

West Sacramento, Calif. — The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Community Development Financial Institutions Fund (CDFI Fund) awarded Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) more than $1 million. The funding will enable RCAC’s Loan Fund, a certified CDFI, to increase lending and investment in low-income and economically distressed communities across the rural West. The Loan Fund offers loans for affordable housing development, environmental infrastructure, community facilities and rural small businesses.

Bank of America awards grant to RCAC

West Sacramento, Calif. — Bank of America awarded Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) a $65,000 grant, which will help RCAC meet the growing demand for its services in the rural West. RCAC builds the capacity of other nonprofit organizations that serve the rural West; protects rural communities’ health and environment; promotes affordable housing and community facilities; and provides financing for rural projects throughout its region.
